ABOUT BILLY

Billy is a chartered IT professional, innovative computing teacher and digital learning specialist with over 15 years' experience of working across education in a variety of teaching and non-teaching roles. He has led a wide range of successful technology enhanced learning and digital strategy projects across all phases of the education sector.

His career includes Group Assistant Principal at a large FE college group where he led on the digital transformation strategy and digital curriculums.


He was National Education IT Manager for one of the top 10 multi-academy trusts in the UK, where he contributed significantly to the implementation and development of the OasisZone platform across all academies.


As Learning Technologies Officer at Islington Borough Council, he led on a council-wide digital learning and inclusion strategy to generate new opportunities for adult learners and residents, working as a key member of the ACL Quality management team.

Since January 2020, he has been a freelance consultant supporting schools, colleges and training providers across the UK. He has successfully delivered a series of interim senior management assignments where he made a positive contribution to improving the quality of education, innovating delivery models and supporting organisations to catapult their digital agenda during and post the COVID-19 pandemic.


During these assignments, he successfully secured over £500k of government funding, implemented a digital education strategy and secured EdTech demonstrator status. These organisations are now recognised nationally for their advancements in educational technology.

In the most recent projects, he has been supporting further education colleges and higher education providers on the design, development and implementation of new and innovative computing and digital curriculums to meet local employer needs in these evolving sectors.

Billy is  exceptionally proud to serve as a Non-Executive Director on the board at DV8 Sussex which is part of the London Learning Consortium (LLC). The role involves providing supportive challenge to further improve and enrich the quality of education at the college.
